Design Consultant

Our Fredericksburg location features a state-of-the-art showroom, design studio, and warehouse and distribution center serving customers across the East Coast.

We are looking for a motivated Tile Design Consultant / Showroom Designer to join our Fairfax team and help homeowners, builders, and designers bring their projects to life.

Job Description: The Design Consultant works directly with homeowners, contractors, interior designers, and builders to guide them through the tile selection process. This role combines design consultation, product knowledge, and sales, helping clients select the perfect materials for kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, and more.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys design, customer service, and sales in a showroom environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead customers in the selection of their projects
  • Provide design guidance and product recommendations specific to the clients needs and building conditions
  • Create and present design concepts, layouts, and product combinations
  • Work with builders, contractors, designers, and homeowners on project specifications
  • Generate and follow up on quotes and sales orders
  • Maintain knowledge of current tile trends, materials, and installation methods
  • Ensure the showroom remains organized, visually appealing, and inspiring to clients
  • Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams for order fulfillment

Qualifications

  • Experience in interior design, tile sales, flooring, or kitchen/bath design preferred
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work with homeowners, contractors, and design professionals
  • Sales-oriented mindset with attention to detail
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and accurate recordkeeping is a must.
  • Basic math and logic are required.
  • Basic computer skills (CRM, order entry, or estimating software preferred)
  • Attendance, punctuality and reliability is a mandatory requirement of this position.

Preferred

  • Interior Design or related background
  • Experience in tile, flooring, stone, or building materials
  • Knowledge of kitchen or bath design
