Contractor Spotlight: Happy Homes Remodeling

At B&F Ceramics, we’re proud to work alongside talented contractors who bring beautiful designs to life through craftsmanship, experience, and attention to detail. This month, we’re highlighting Happy Homes Remodeling, a remodeling company specializing in kitchens and bathrooms and serving homeowners since 2011.

With a focus on creating spaces that are not only beautiful, but also functional and personalized to the homeowner, Happy Homes guides clients through the remodeling process from the initial concept through final installation.

Where It All Began

For Happy Homes, remodeling grew from a lifelong interest in working with people, building things, and finding creative solutions.

The inspiration started at home, where the founder spent time working alongside his father and grandfather, learning how to use tools, fix things, and approach projects with a problem-solving mindset. That interest eventually led to studying engineering in college—a background that became a natural fit for remodeling, where design, construction, problem solving, and continuous learning all come together.

Today, that same curiosity and passion for problem solving continues to shape the way Happy Homes approaches each project.

“One of the most rewarding parts is seeing an outdated space transform into something beautiful and functional and, most importantly, seeing how happy people are with both the process and the finished result.”

More Than What You See on the Surface

When homeowners look at a finished tile installation, they may notice the color, pattern, and overall design first. But according to Happy Homes, some of the most important work happens before the first tile is ever installed.

Waterproofing, substrate preparation, layout, transitions, grout placement, and countless other details all play a role in creating an installation that performs beautifully for years to come.

Happy Homes believes the best results come from bringing together the right designer, the right materials, and a skilled installer. That collaborative approach is also an important part of their relationship with B&F Ceramics.

“Our team brings product and design knowledge to the table, while our experienced Happy Homes tile installers bring the technical knowledge and craftsmanship from the field,” they shared.

A Passion for Bathroom Design

While Happy Homes works on a variety of remodeling projects, bathrooms have always been a favorite.

Even a relatively small bathroom can offer plenty of opportunities for creativity through thoughtful layouts and material selections. The team especially enjoys working with porcelain because of the wide variety of colors, textures, and finishes available today.

But ultimately, the most rewarding part isn’t the material itself—it’s seeing the homeowner’s reaction when an outdated or frustrating space becomes one they genuinely love.

A Primary Bathroom Transformation

One recent primary bathroom project particularly stands out.

The original space featured a large tub deck, an oddly shaped closet, and a small shower, making the bathroom feel more divided and less spacious than it needed to be. Happy Homes completely rethought the layout, removing a wall, relocating the shower to take advantage of natural daylight, and creating a more open and comfortable space.

The homeowners loved blue and wanted to incorporate it into the design. Working with Michele at B&F Ceramics, they found a combination of materials that brought in that favorite color while maintaining a warm and elegant feel.

After seeing the selections together with their lighting and other finishes, the homeowners summed it up perfectly:

“It’s a home run.”

The finished space became a large wet room featuring a freestanding tub and two shower systems, with thoughtfully selected tile helping tie the entire design together.

Designing With the Whole Room in Mind

For Happy Homes, choosing tile isn’t simply about finding something beautiful.

The team encourages homeowners to consider how every element of the room will work together—from tile and cabinetry to countertops, lighting, fixtures, grout, and natural light. Practical considerations such as maintenance, texture, slip resistance, and long-term appeal are just as important.

Their philosophy is simple: look at the complete picture.

That same approach has helped Happy Homes create spaces that feel cohesive rather than simply trendy.

When it comes to current design requests, the team is seeing plenty of larger-format porcelain, marble-inspired designs, warm natural tones, subtle textures, and installations with fewer grout lines. At the same time, they encourage homeowners to choose designs they will continue to love years from now rather than following a trend simply because it is popular today.

A Decade of Partnership With B&F Ceramics

Happy Homes has been working with B&F Ceramics for approximately 10 years, and that relationship has grown into much more than simply purchasing tile.

With their own showroom, Happy Homes provides homeowners with a place to begin coordinating cabinetry, countertops, faucets, fixtures, and a selection of tile. When a project calls for a larger selection or more specialized tile guidance, B&F Ceramics becomes an extension of that design process.

Happy Homes specifically highlighted the value of working with Michele, who helps homeowners navigate the many choices available and narrow them down into selections that fit the project.

They also gave a special shoutout to Scott, whom they call “one of B&F’s hidden gems.” From helping with urgent jobsite questions to following up on orders, quantities, materials, and invoices, Scott has become a valuable resource for keeping projects moving.

For Happy Homes, that accessibility is a major advantage of working with a local tile showroom.

“For me, a good local showroom isn’t simply a place to buy tiles. It becomes part of the project team.”

Helping Homeowners Feel Confident

Remodeling comes with a lot of decisions, and tile can quickly become one of the most overwhelming.

Happy Homes appreciates having access to B&F’s broad selection and knowledgeable team, allowing homeowners to see and touch materials, compare colors and textures, and receive guidance based on the overall design and function of their space.

The goal isn’t to overwhelm homeowners with hundreds of options. It’s to help narrow those choices down until they feel confident in their decisions.

Instead of asking, “Did we make the right choice?” the hope is that homeowners reach the point where they’re saying, “I can’t wait to see this installed.”

Advice for Homeowners Starting a Remodel

If Happy Homes could offer homeowners one piece of advice, it would be to think about how you want your home to feel and function before choosing tiles, colors, or fixtures.

What bothers you about the space today? What could make your mornings easier? What would provide better storage or simply make you happier when you walk into the room?

Those answers can help establish the foundation for a successful remodel.

From there, Happy Homes works to understand how each homeowner actually lives and creates a design around those needs.

Creating Happy Homes

Perhaps the most fitting part of Happy Homes’ philosophy is the meaning behind the name itself.

For the team, remodeling isn’t simply about creating a beautiful finished room. It’s about guiding homeowners through a process that can otherwise feel overwhelming, earning their trust, and ultimately creating a space that improves their everyday lives.

“There is nothing better than finishing a project and hearing a homeowner say, ‘I’m so happy with my home now.’”

And the relationship doesn’t necessarily end when construction does. Happy Homes hopes to become part of their clients’ long-term home team—someone they can turn to for future projects, questions, and advice.

At B&F Ceramics, we’re grateful to have Happy Homes Remodeling as a trusted partner and look forward to continuing to create beautiful spaces together.
